Alvin C. York photograph and letter.

Consists of four items relating to Alvin C. York, a sergeant in the United States Army during World War I. Materials include an undated photograph of York, a 1961 postmarked envelope, and two letters. One of the letters, dated in 1961, was handwritten by York's wife for York and concerns the photograph, which was apparently enclosed. The other letter, dated in 1960, is typewritten and seems to have originated from the office of James W. Powell, finance officer from the American Legion, Jere Cooper Dyersburg Post No. 30, in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Both letters are addressed to Mr. Charles R. Abel of El Paso, Texas. Abel apparently gave a donation to the Dyersburg American Legion Post in York's behalf.
